Design, Development, and Demonstration of Wide-Area PMU Data Sharing for Entergy

(Sanders, PI) UIUC will design and implement phasor gateways to demonstrate basic NASPInet capabilities and support Entergy Services applications. The University of Illinois and Grid Protection Alliance (GPA) will leverage existing networks between Entergy Services and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to demonstrate the exchange of real-time, high-frequency, high-bandwidth PMU data, and possibly other information, between the two utilities. These gateways will bring a new level of cyber security, data delivery, and data selection capabilities to the current exchange of PMU information. The project will also seek to exchange data with other gateways at other utilities, if possible. UIUC will also assist meeting other objectives of the Entergy Services PMU Project Execution Plan.
